Description
COMPOSITION PER DOSE
Cloned live Infectious Bursal Disease Virus ≥ 10³.⁵ TCID₅₀.
The interference of IBD maternal antibodies with some Gumboro vaccines can reduce the active immunity provided by vaccination. Attempts to overcome this issue with ‘hot’ or ‘intermediate’ strains often lead to lymphoid organ colonisation, lymphocyte depletion, and immunosuppression, increasing the risk of vaccine failure for subsequent immunisations.
The CH/80 strain offers maximum immune protection with minimal impact on the bursal lymphoid system, even in birds with irregular levels of passive antibodies. Its antigenic profile and strain characteristics make HIPRAGUMBORO CH/80 a preferred product for IBD control in poultry.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTE
Ocular-nasal, oral, or spray administration.
• Ocular-nasal: Dissolve the freeze-dried tablet in the included diluent (sterile distilled water) and administer one drop (0.03 ml) per bird in the eye or nare using a standard dropper (typically 30 ml per 1,000 doses).
• Oral: Dissolve the tablet by filling the vial halfway with fresh tap water, shake gently, and pour into a clean container. Add enough water to ensure consumption within ½ to 1 hour. Recommended water amounts per 1,000 birds:
– 1 to 3 weeks old: 5–10 litres
– 4 to 9 weeks old: 12–23 litres
– 10 to 16 weeks old: 27–37 litres
• Spray: Validate the sprayer to determine the water volume required. Spray uniformly so that all birds’ heads are moistened. Typical volumes:
– 1-day-old chicks (large drops): 200–250 ml per 1,000 doses
– Older birds (fine drops): 500–1,000 ml per 1,000 doses
DOSAGE
Poultry: 1 dose per bird.
Recommended vaccination programme:
A. Areas where Gumboro disease is prevalent (unknown maternal immunity):
– Chickens: Vaccinate at 1 week old, revaccinate at 15–21 days.
– Layers/Breeders: Vaccinate at 1 week old, revaccinate at 15–21 days, and again at 6–7 weeks.
B. Areas free of Gumboro disease (known maternal immunity):
– Chickens: Vaccinate at 12–15 days old.
– Layers/Breeders: Vaccinate at 12–15 days old and revaccinate at 6–7 weeks.
If the number of birds does not match the available doses, administer a slight overdose; never administer less than the recommended amount.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Zero Days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
None.
